Why I’m here
Long story short, I’m a writer looking for an audience. Those are my grandsons posing with me back in 2018 with two of my novels. They’re pretty good stories if I do say so myself. So is my newest novel, “Trafficking U.”
I do technology and cybersecurity for a living and I’ve learned a few lessons over the years. Turns out, those lessons apply to the rest of life.
I’m an American Christian. Not the kind who thinks the United States should be a theocracy, but the kind who believes Jesus saved me. I have plenty to say about politics and religion, especially in this era when too many people accept the latest internet video as truth. This is where politics and religion and technology and cybersecurity intersect. Somebody needs to write about it. May as well be me.
I also like slice-of-life stories. Because real superheroes are ordinary people who step up when called. Kind of like when a bishop asks the new President of the United States to exercise compassion, and then endures taunts and name-calling for her trouble. Or maybe the time when an eight-year-old young man out in the middle of nowhere with only his mom convinced a potential attacker that his fictional Dad was nearby. Those are stories worth telling.
I already have lots of this on my website. See for yourself at https://www.dgregscott.com/blog-category-page/. I would be honored if a community forms here on Substack.
